Known as Spain’s "golden city," Salamanca is rich in architectural, religious and gastronomic culture. Marvel at the La Casa de las Conchas (house of shells) and the 18th century Plaza Mayor, then pore over the fresh produce of the Central Market. Both the Old and New Cathedrals of Salamanca are celebrations of Renaissance and Gothic styles.

Inside and out , this museum is beautiful ! Superb location with an extensive collection of all things Art Deco and art nouveau. While the furniture was of particular interest to me, the museum also has a beautiful collection of period glassware and jewelry. There is a gift shop, of course, and a small cafe.

This is a great museum on the history of cars with cars going back to the first one displayed there along with ones from all the years and countries around the world.
In this museum you'll find lots of old cars. We love cars and antiques one so we rally enjoyed this visit! Workers were very kind, and it's totally worth the money! Psst, the entrance is free every first Tuesday of the month! We'll visit again soon, surely!

Miguel de Unamuno was a very important writer, thinker and political figure from the end of the 19th Century until his death in 1936. This house is the official residence of the rector of the University of Salamanca and Unamuno lived here from 1900 to 1914, the first time he held the post but not in the years preceeding his death when he held the post again. The property is next door to the University building (where you buy tickets) and tours take place every hour on the hour in the morning of Monday to Friday. The tour we attended was in Spanish and I am not sure whether other languages are catered for. You receive a brief but informative talk on Unamuno´s life in the ceremonial hall on the ground floor followed by a film. You then go upstairs and are taken through the main events of Unamuno´s life and then see his study, living room and bedroom. There are many artifacts moved from the house he died in, and as so often happens with writers you get a very good picture of the man. Recommended for fans. The tour lasts one hour.
