The "Ludwigskirche" in Saarbruecken is a lutheran (protestant) church, built in 1775 by prince Ludwig of Nassau. It is one of the most important and prominent baroque churches in Germany, impressively situated amidst a place and surrounded by baroque city palaces. The church features a stunning white interior and a pulpit and organ in its centre. The church is open every Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Groups are asked to arrange their visit through the congregational office.
This church come as a bit surprise...a Level of architecture you just wouldn't expect in a town like saarbruecken...it's really world class and one of the most beautiful protestant church buildings of this period-worldwide!

This building is a beautiful example of gothic architecture. This building alone was was worth the trip out to Saarbrücken. The streetcars pass right in front of it as well. If you’re looking for public transportation, they are a great and inexpensive option.

I went to the downtown with my husband and my 5 months old babe. The place is very nice for walk, to have a coffee or ice cream. There is also a plenty of nice restaurants. They have a lot of influence of French cousine . The weather was very nice, there is a lot of shops in the street, and the buildings are very traditional from Germany. The city is very clean, ordered, and beautiful. Very relax to go with family to enjoy the afternoon. Definitely worth to go!
