Ruhengeri is a city and capital of Musanze District in the Northern Province of Rwanda. Some sources now refer to the city itself as Musanze, after the district in which it lies. This has to do with the adopted policy of renaming Rwanda cities, which was done to eliminate terrible memories of the past and to install new administrational infrastructure in the country. Ruhengeri (Musanze) lies near the twin lakes of Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo and is the gateway city to Volcanoes National Park and the famous mountain gorillas in the north-western part of the country.

This is perhaps one of the most breath-taking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 1000 living today. It's been described as the must do activity for 2019 best places to visit and we can say, it really lives to its name. Note: Gorilla permits is not included in this package( you need to buy permits beforehand) just transport

We had an absolutely amazing time on our two-day tour with Kawira! Iddy was a fantastic guide, extremely friendly and knowledgeable and lots of good conversation along the way. Ian went above and beyond to organize our tour as well as help us organize other parts of our vacation. Nyungwe Forest is just stunningly beautiful and is a must-visit for a trip to Rwanda. I can't recommend Kawira enough - great tour and lovely people!

Whoever plan to explore Rwanda i definetely recommend the Akagera and Nyungwe if you budget is not too big to trek for gorillas. We did with Home Rwanda Safaris, starting from Kigali to Akagera then Akagera to Nyungwe and back. What a beautiful trip!! The game drive of Akagera took us in a real wildthought i mean, seeing the Elephant right at the park gate then few meters ahead getting stuck in a middle of buffalos was the welcoming message from the big five. We've seen a lot of animals and the driver was a good one at spotting them far in the bushes. Our night was at Game lodge which is super classic, the food and service we appreciated. Later we went to Nyungwe and pass on the canopy bridge one of my favorite experience the next day we tracked the chimpanzees at Rusizi side of Nyungwe. I recommend Home Rwanda Safaris because they had our word since day 1 to the end of the trip and exceptionally they brought me 2 bags of maraba coffee and i was like wow this guys are super super kind and professional. Reserve your trip with them

We were able to customize an 11 day tour through western Uganda and Rwanda, and to say that it was spectacular is an understatement! From the moment we landed, we connected with our guides Sedrick and Ben, and in Rwanda, Godfry, and had a blast. We were able to see some of the most incredible species on this planet, getting up close and personal to chimpanzees and the legendary Gorillas of Bwindi. We were able to stay with local families and interact with the communities through which we traveled. Through all of this, our guides became our friends, talking to us about the culture and way of life of the people while playing cards and dancing. A wonderful experience from start to finish!

2 days Gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda is the ultimate adventure experience in Rwanda. Many people plan for years to be able to watch the mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. Rwanda’s volcanoes national park is among the four parks where mountain gorillas are currently inhabiting. This gorilla safari will bring you close to these massive but gentle animals that live in a communal family led by the dominant silver back. In some gorilla groups you will find more than one silver back in which case it implies the other silver-backs had to submit to his leadership or breakaway and start their own families. Volcanoes national park is about 2 hours drive from Kigali. As you travel to the home of mountain gorillas in the Virunga volcanoes, enjoy the scenery of ‘the thousand hills’. Gorilla trekking will take you in the deep jungles as you search for these massive animals.
Inclusions: Lunch, Lunch, Private transportation, Genocide Memorial visit & Kigali city Tour , Driver, Fuel , Guides, Porters and Rangers , Air port pick and Transfers

I was a little anxious about doing this trip alone but everyone was so friendly and I had so much fun. I opted to go snorkelling with a member of the boat crew. We were out for almost an hour and I saw the most amazing marine l upife. We were lucky enough to see some dolphins, although not for long. Lunch on Wasini Island was really good, plenty of food and the service was great. My overnight stay at Shimoni Reef Lodge was just perfect, the staff went out of their way to welcome me and make my stay memorable. The food was wonderful. I took the opportunity to visit the slave caves and was escorted there personally by Nyinge who worked at the Lodge, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a unique two day experience
