9 Hole Fun and Challenging Golf Course designed by Jack Nickalus. Located at Nongsa, Batam Island, surrounded by 4 stars Hotels and Marina.
Course is under new management. Regular competitions and events. Course condition improved out of sight particularly the greens and bunkers. Probably the most challenging course in Batam but generally not busy. The clubhouse/reception is at Nongsa ferry terminal so exceptionally convenient. Its a well kept secret but deserves more plaudits/success.

Award-winning 27-hole championship course with breathtaking views, designed by world-celebrated golfing legend, Gary Player.
Really nice course and easy to organise ferry form Singapore. Good caddies and carts. Nice layout and scenery. A bit pricey compared to other courses. Restaurant food below average and very over priced so rather eat at hotel.

Padang Golf Sukajadi is a 18 hole championship course originally designed and created by reputed golf course designer THOMSON, WOLVERIDGE & PERRET. Due to the latest development, the course was later altered and renovated by PT. Flora Tjipta Sarana, Jakarta. Opened in 2009, Padang Golf Sukajadi is a semi private course. Located strategically in the heart of Batam city. The Par 72 Padang Golf Sukajadi measures 6,340 meters with four different tee locations. The grass used on the course is Salam Seashore Paspalum, will be the perfect club to host a professional golf events.
I have played a few times at Sukajadi and love the course. Recently I played a couple of rounds with my 10 year old twins. I asked Mbak Fitri, the Assistant Marketing Manager, to arrange caddys who were good with children. She did not let me down. The caddys were wonderful, making for such and enjoyable time. Traveling to and from Singapore was flawless. Mbak Fitri did an incredible job. Even arranged our hotel stay at the nearby Radisson. All the staffs were very friendly and courteous. Even though the course is flatter than most at Batam, it can be challenging and is certainly lots of fun. The course is well maintained and not water logged. Looking forward to my next return.

Laguna Golf Bintan is an 18-hole, par 72 golf course, set within 60 hectares of a tropical paradise. Originally designed by Greg Norman, the course was thoroughly redesigned by Laguna Golf Group and fully re-opened in November 2016 graced by the Group’s brand ambassador Sir Nick Faldo. Named the Best Renovated Course of the Year by Asian Golf Awards 2016, the new landscaping with great emphasis on natural surroundings and wildlife provides golfers a whole new sensorial golfing experience. With the dramatic oceanfront backdrop taking centre-stage, it offers a pure inspiration for aspiring and seasoned golfers alike. The course features awe-inspiring beachfront holes with views of the South China Sea on both front and back nine, while playing through tranquil lagoons, lush jungle and Bintan’s famous rugged rocks on 60-hectare of tropical paradise. During the game, a tranquil journey with sea views, greenery and age-old rock formations exudes a unique sense of place.
Great golf course. We played here 3 times and loved it. Not too challenging but interesting enough to play a few times. Caddies were mixed. Lunch was included one day and the food was the best of the courses we played. Drinks are expensive. Paid more here than in Singapore or top class bars so felt ripped off and didn’t drink here again. Play and stay package with Banyan Tree resort was good value. If you don’t like cold showers Check if there is hot water before getting in. Both days I had cold showers. Great that they clean your clubs and shoes.

Palms Springs is the go to day of golf if you want to avoid the expensive and at times arrogant approach of course in Singapore. Palm Springs is a 30-40 min ferry trip from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and then only 5 mins from the terminal in Nongsa. The staff are great from Emily who assist to book everything, to the team on the front desk and and all the golfing staff and caddies. The course has three 9 hole courses (Palm, Island and Resort), all challenging for all levels of golfer. The restaurant is ok and the menu provides a fair variety of local dishes and some alternatives for the less adventurous. My favourite is the Nasi Goreng. Given it's location, the quality of the course, the skill of the caddies and the easy of getting there and back in a day, for around SG$110 (incl ferry tickets, golf fees, transfers, visa handling, golf club handling, lunch, caddy and cart) why would you not if you have the time.
