From the rare truffles of the Drôme to the vineyards of Beaujolais, the Rhone-Alps reveal the treasures of French cuisine. Gastronomic pleasures are complemented by the lush countryside, filled with fields of lavender. UNESCO-designated Lyon has first-century Roman ruins and the 19th-century Basilica of Fourvière. Forts and castles dot the landscape around Grenoble. Work off excess calories on the slopes of Chamonix and Megève. Visit during fall to take advantage of the grape harvest and many festivals.

Was staying in Annecy, was looking for a nice beach and Plage d'Angon was recommended. A very nice beach! A 20 minute drive up the coast from Annecy - beautiful drive along the coast thru small towns. Though crowded, was able to quickly find a parking place - no charge though there was paid parking. Very nice natural beach with lots of grass to lay down your towels - not a sandy beach. Marked off swimming area, floating docks to sunbathe, diving board, kayaks, SUPs, small cafe and restrooms - very well equipped. Family atmosphere - everyone was nice. This is a guarded area with lifeguards posted. The views from the beach are spectacular - lake is surrounded my mountains. Water temperature was great and the water was clean - all in all, a very nice lake beach to visit!

With Paragliders leaping from mountain tops what was there not to like! Rescue boat needed for the one who landed in the Lake. So good to watch even if they were mad!
