Ahhh. The tour not taken. I jumped on a great last minute airfare to Iceland from the US and had little time to plan, so I was panicking, a bit. I read reviews and decided to contact two tour companies, one being Hidden Iceland. They responded immediately with a detailed outline of a private tour that met EXACTLY what I asked for in terms of sights, type of accommodation, level of activity, adventure and flexibility specific to a mom traveling with teenagers. Family friends learned of our trip and decided to join us and ultimately the decision was made to self explore. However- this company’s response was very impressive and I will be envious of those who take a vacation with Hidden Iceland!

AVOID THIS COMPANY. EastWest cancelled our tour with less than 24h notice, and then completely failed to refund my money. They refuse to respond to emails and have done nothing to prove they tried to refund. They have held over £200 of my money for over two months now, and I have had to do a formal Chargeback request with VISA. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE CROOKS.

We knew Reykjavik Excursions already from previous transfers. That was the reason for us to book again. Clean, always on time, comfortable. Weak is the price. It is too expencive.
Take a day trip that brings you close to some of Iceland's most beautiful natural sites. You'll begin with a visit to the National Park Þingvellir. The next stop is at Friðheimar eco-area, where you will learn about growing organic vegetables using geothermal heat and grab lunch. After that, you will head to the geothermal area Geysir. After Geysir, you will continue to the colossal waterfall Gullfoss, which many consider the most beautiful waterfall in Iceland. Formed by the river Hvítá, the waterfall is 32 meters (105 feet) high across two cascading tiers. Finally, you will visit a volcanic crater lake called Kerið. The crater was formed about 6,500 years ago and lies at the northern end of a row of craters known as Tjarnarhólar. Special offer for tours taking place in February and March. For those who buy our Golden Circle tour taking place in February and March, we offer a free airport transfer for your departure. You need to inform us when your departure from Iceland.

Looking forward seeing you Villi and Gulla

We spent 4 days travelling to see the Southern sites of Iceland with a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. In addition to the standards like the black sand beaches and the Blue Lagoon she showed us many sites that are not available on regular tours through the big companies like the Westman Islands at sunset and more waterfalls than I could imagine! We also sampled Icelandic foods like fish and chips, traditional Christmas treats and delicious tomato soup surrounded by the tomato vines. Best of all, we learned so much about the rich Icelandic culture and history from Gulla. We could not have asked for a better tour guide.
