The MAON, namely the Art Museum of the 19th and 20th centuries is the only museum with stable collections of artists born in Calabria in the 19th and 20th centuries such as U.Boccioni, A. Marasco, A.Savelli, M.Rotella and many others . It is one of the few southern cultural institutions dedicated to modern and contemporary art, and is based in Palazzo Vitari (18th century), in the Historic Center of Rende (Cs). The publication of catalogs and monographic volumes gave the exhibitions of the MAON the right documentary and popularization. In 2009 the MAON organized and together with the Lugano Art Museum the only public exhibition of Umberto Boccioni in the Centenary of Futurism, bringing the works of the Chiattone collection to Italy for the occasion. In 2015 the “Alberto Burri e i poeti” exhibition was held, included in the official events for the centenary of the birth of the great artist of Città di Castello
