After having visited the Museum of embroidery of the White Brotherhood, we were also very curious to see the collection of the Blue Brotherhood. Again, amazing what a pieces of art are made by hand by a few women of the village. In this museum you can also visit the workshop where you can see all the stages of making these marvellous 'dresses'. We were the only visitors, so we could see everything at ease.

El Real Casino de Murcia (Royal Casino of Murcia) is an emblematic building in the city of Murcia. Its unique architecture combines modernist and eclectic artistic styles, and the beauty of the building awakes the admiration of all visitors. In fact, it is the most visited civil building in Murcia. It is situated in the heart of the city centre, on Calle Trapería, close to the Cathedral. The Royal Casino hosts a great variety of cultural activities, such as art exhibitions, talks, conferences, three book clubs and book launches. Institutional ceremonies and business events are also held in the Royal Casino. The splendour of the historic building is perfectly preserved yet it is adapted to modern times.

Garum comes up quite often when you read anything about the ancient Romans. Little did I know when I stumbled upon this small archeological site (which is hidden inside a building on a side street in Old Town) that this is the place they made it! Made from macerated fermented fish flesh and fish guts the Romans used it as a condiment with practically everything (no wonder they were so tough!) I guess the modern day equivalent could be ketchup or sriracha sauce. I don’t know why, but I felt very lucky to see where this mythical stuff was made. The fact that admission is free is even more surprising, just be careful when searching the location because it is easy to walk right by.

The Conception Castle is the best starting point to discover the city and acquire an overview of its 3,000 years of history. Located on the hill of the same name, it has served as the enclave to a Roman temple dedicated to Asclepius, a Muslim fortress, a medieval castle or the place where the siren was installed that warned the population of the bombing during the Civil War. Also, from the fortress, one can obtain the best panoramic views of the city and its natural port. Everything within reach thanks to the panoramic lift that saves walking up the hill.
Not just a walk around ruin but a great educational facility as well. For 7 euros you get the castle and the old air raid tunnels, as well as the lift to the top.
