The Facebar

I've been going to this place for many years, there is no place like it, small to medium size gigs, club nights catering to rock, metal, indie, goth, drum and bass, dance, reggae and more can be had here, they also cater for private parties, wedding receptions and school parties, it's just a great overall venue for almost any need, it's also got a private smoking area (for both rooms) which is rare these days, the drinks are cheap considering its close to the centre, Sharon and Helen have been running the place for many years and are a pillar of the local community! Gigs or club nights on most Friday and Saturdays (usually)

Lovely pub, with a friendly warm atmosphere, nice bar staff and a great choice of drinks. I had Sunday lunch last week and it was amazing and very cheap for the quality of food, I highly recommend the Sunday roast and a visit!!!

Great pub with a good range of cask and keg beers, and a very good selection of gin. Friendly, efficient staff. Can get busy when Reading FC are playing at home.

The Alehouse

The pub has an interesting layout with many small "coves". This makes it a great place to meet up with friends, since you can have a conversation away from the noise of others. And the beer is great!

The Nags Head

Reviewed By Souwester147 - Reading, United Kingdom

I met a friend for a quick pint (or two). He's a real ale aficionado and had thoroughly recommended meeting at this pub. I like my real ales too, and to walk in and see the amazing variety of ales was a sight for sore eyes. Sadly could only try a couple as I had to drive a little later. The food choices are limited, but that's not why you go to this pub.Nevertheless the John Thorners pies (from my old neck of the woods) are very good, and I thoroughly enjoyed my steak and Stilton pie. This pub is about 20 minutes walk from home for me, but I'm sure I'll soon be making the effort to return!
