Our third performance of this Raleigh company has convinced us this is equivalent to any company we enjoyed in New York City. These young dancers did credit to Bernstein and Robbins' On The Town in this weekend's performance at the Performing Arts Center, downtown Raleigh. In addition to being reasonable with accessible parking close by, the theater is a perfect size for excellent visibility from every seat. A real joy.

As part of the OLLI program of classes you have abreviated symphony events available at noon on certain Fridays. If you can't attend the symphony in the evening - this is great for a sampling. This time we saw Swing Is the Thing - with symphony and special musicians as well as dancers and singers - really entertaining! After seeing this we are ready to try the Mowtown event later this Spring. The quality of the performers and performances is outstanding and varied. It is worth checking on line to see what is coming in the future.

We saw NC Theater’s production of Newsies. It was amazing. Jason Gotay was a great Jack. The supporting cast was great too. They put their own spin on certain aspects of the show which made it interesting. I was really impressed. I’ve never seen any other shows by NC Theater before but I heard others say it was the best one they’ve seen and I could believe it. I’ll be keeping a watch on the future shows for sure!

Popped in this place on a Sunday night just to check it out before dinner down the street. Has the feel of being back in the time of prohibition and going to a speak easy, which we found out was what they were going for. Mission accomplished. Dark setting just the right type of lighting, very cool looking. Place was absolutely dead when we went here around 7, like it was us and 2 other people. Now, normally this would spell instant death and a complete turn around and walk out the door but not in this case. We went up to the bar and right off the bat the bartender was energetic and informative but not annoyingly so. Unfortunately for us, there wasn't live entertainment on the night we were there but still had a great experience due mainly to the bartender. If management is reading this, thank him because he's the reason we came back on the night he suggested and sure enough, it looked like what a speak easy would look like just before or after the cops came to "raid" it. Completely full and very happening. We'll be back for sure.

Red Hat Amphitheater

Reviewed By sharenagp

This was hands down one of the best places to watch a concert! We got seated tickets but honestly regardless of where you are seating or standing, you will be able to see the stage and naturally hear the music. The security and staff were really nice and helpful. The staff made sure that the aisles were clear throughout the whole event. The drinks are what you would expect for a concert setting. It was roughly $14-16 for a 24 oz. Premium beer and roughly $36 for a whole bottle of wine which serves roughly five cups. The pretzel was going for $4. I would recommend Red Hat to anyone wanting to enjoy an evening rocking it out to your favorite band (weather permitting).
