First off a big thanks to Golden Adventures who took us under their wing and produced the goods in stunning fashion. The Toyota Landcruiser was very comfy, durable, safe and seemed like the most common mode of transport in the area. First port of call is Sealine Beach, where the tyres on your vehicle get deflated, and the only chance of a toilet break before you embark on desert fun. In and around Khor Al Udaid is peacefully scenic and a outstanding experience of how dramatic landscape connects with the sea. Very difficult to film or take photos whilst your vehicle is bashing against the dunes, but living the experience can never get taken away from you. The striking picture of this attraction is why you should come here if your visiting Qatar. If your familiar with Mleiha dunes in UAE then this absolutely dwarfs it, with the sea here being the clincher. We did the afternoon short tour that fitted into the glorious sunset views, but available are dinner on the desert and overnight packages. We loved every aspect of the tour, perhaps the only gripe would be maybe too many vehicles in the desert at one time and camel riding at Sealine, where you can see the animals are not that placid and willing as other reviews think...

This is one of the best beaches I have seen in Qatar - beautiful, clean, sandy beach ideal for kids to play and with very good facilities - toilets at every 300 meters or so. The sea is also ideal for swimming. The access from Doha is also great - just about 35 mins drive from West Bay and proper road all the way up to the beach. for those driving sedans or small cars, no off-roading required. There is a 50QR entry fee for cars but it’s absolutely worth it. Access is permitted until 9pm in the evening and there are solar power lights on the seafront.

no access at moment to most of the peninsular - it's closed off at the gate to the UNESCO nature site. guard says it has been closed since Ramadan - not sure when it will open. Southern part of peninsular (below film city) below fence still accessible. beautiful place.
