This is a wonderful beach, with clean sand, nice waves when there's wind, a light undertoe and a variety of different swimming niches, some perfect for underwater viewing (lots of local fish varieties) and diving and some for just chilling. The taverna and bar, both of which are continually changing their names. provide good food, cappuccino freddo's and beer on tap just when you need them, plus there are some shady spots reaching all the way down to the shore.

We hired bicycles at a very reasonable cost from Martin's on the main Street through Gialova (which is open 24hrs) then headed off along the beach road and across the lagoon toVoidakilia Beach (saw flamingoes and herons on the way) then parked up on the beach for a couple of hours on the beach. You need to bring everything with you -a parasol for shade and food and drink. The bay is beautiful fine sand sloping very gently down - you can be a fair way out before you are out if your depth. Water was clear, fishes swimming everywhere. We went early but by lunchtime it was busy and we cycled back. We loved it.

Decided to do short visit from Methoni and was impressed. A very picturesque bay, sheltered and family friendly with quality visitors feom abroad and Greeks. The beach is clean safe with no noticed currents or hazards. The area has multiple restaurants, tavernas and small hotels. There is a small functional super market, shade from restaurant parasols for price of a drink or two. There is snorkeling , large inflatable fun for kids 5€ a hour, great place, worth visit(s).

Petroxori beach or Karfa is a beautiful place ideal for kids and older ages. Separated in two pieces, in the one part has free sunbeds and umbrellas and in the other part nothing. Also there are two taverns and a beach bar
We enjoyed Petrochori beach, which we could walk to directly from the Ammothines restaurant. It is a nice cove, sandy floor, with rocks on the side and further out if you want to snorkel for a bit of interest. Would happily go back.
