Sun has always been treated as God, the energy provider. Konark Sun temple is a great piece of art, an architectural marvel, a monument which speaks of the rich heritage and culture of Ancient India. A temple built more than a 1000 years ago is beautiful with its detailed and intricate carvings. Government of Odisha and ASI is doing a good job in preserving this piece of art. If you wish to see the real India then instead of visiting the over-rated Taj or Qutub please visit this Sun temple and temples in Khajuraho.

Nothing can describe the ultimate pilgrimage of Hindu religion. The seat of Lord Jagannath, literally the king of the world. From the vast temple complex, to the intricate carvings on the walls of the structure,to the flag which always flies in the opposite direction of the wind to the sanctum sanctorum where only the privileged see the Lord and his siblings is a very humbling experience. The kitchen is huge and cooking is done for approximately 50000 people daily by an army of cooks in only earthen vessels on a wood fire and water drawn from wells within the complex. This temple along with Konark should be on top of the bucket list when visiting Odisha, India.

Peaceful place for living in the Puri dham. Easy to reach from the railway station and airport. This is a religious and spiritual place. Food quality is awesome and called as a Prasadam. It is also called Ramakrishan Pramahans ashram. If you want to enjoy the spiritual peace, then you must go there.

I have been going to this ashram since childhood, since it belongs to our family Guru. it's serene location on the banks of the aqueduct "Atharanala" is very conducive for meditation and other spiritual activities. Although Atharanala has been clogged by weeds and water hyacinth, Govt. of Odisha has plans to restore it to its original state. Then, the ashram would indeed be an abode of peace.

This tank is considered holy and has a lot of small and big temples surrounding it. There is an island in the middle of the lake with a small temple called Chandana Mandapa.

Alarnatha Temple or Alvarnaath (Sanskrit:अल्वारनाथ),(Oriya:ଅଲାରନାଥ) is a temple dedicated to Vishnu and located in Brahmagiri, Odisha near Puri. It comes in between Puri and Satapada ( Chilka Gate) It becomes crowded during the krishnapaksha of Ashadha after the SnanaYatra when lord Jagannath cannot be seen in Puri. During this period, popularly known as Anasara or 'Anavasara' (literally meaning no opportunity to see the lord of Puri), instead of having darshan in Jagannath Temple, peoples believe that Lord Jagannath during this time manifests as Alarnath Dev, at the Alarnath temple in Brahmagiri, which is about 23 km from Puri. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu during his stay in Puri used to see Shri Jagannatha daily. During Anavasara when Lord and his siblings were taken to the secret chamber for 15 days, he was unable to see his dear Lord. So as per legend lord directed him to go to Brahmagiri and visit his another temple called Alarnat

We 3 friends visited this place with our wives. We stayed one night at the forest department managed Nature Camp. It is situated at a hilltop with a breathtaking view. We went for local sightseeing. The cottages are good, comfortable, and the staff is very helpful and hardworking.
