The place is a memorial to Mahadji Scindia, the commander-in-chief of the Maratha Armies during the post Panipat period till 1794. The place is peaceful, tranquil and well kept. When once enters the main structure one can see the various photo's of the rulers of the Scindia dynasty. Would recommend visitng the place for those interested in Maratha history

A prominent historical landmark in Pune is Shaniwarwada. It is a majestic fortification as well built in 1732 and during that time it was the seat of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire and they ruled over there until 1818.
