Specialty coffee farming, citrus, cacao, vanilla beans regenerative/agroforestry methods...forgottenforestpr.com Coffee tours, airbnb, wilderness camping, hiking, Shinrin Yoku experience, panoramic views, bird watching BY APPOINENTS
I highly recommend the tour of Sandra Farms. Until this tour, I had no idea that quality coffee is actually produced in the US, and I've been roasting my own coffee at home for years. I've always wanted to visit an active coffee farm and Israel's tour did not disappoint! I learned a bunch and thoroughly enjoyed the coffee, chocolate and the views. Hearing Israel talk, you can really feel his passion for producing top grade coffee and you gain an appreciation for this unique place. Sure, the road in is a bit of an adventure, but that's just part of the fun! (and it's really not that bad) :-P And for other coffee geeks out there: After getting their green coffee home and trying different roast levels, my favorite is right around City+. It's bright and nutty with hints of fruit (to my palate). It compares well to other premium gourmet and boutique coffees. [Sandra Farms, Wet Process, Medium Coffee. Roast levels evaluated: City, City+, Full City, Full City+, Vienna]

Come up to the mountains and follow the trail to the waterfall that gave Hacienda Buena Vista its name. What used to be an important coffee plantation was also the scenario of a unique relationship between land, water and slavery. Today, at the heart of the former hacienda is a carefully restored historical site containing structures more than a century old and a hydraulic turbine that's the only one of its kind. Completely refurbished, the turbine is still powered by the water of Río Canas and serves as the main engine for other machines of the time. Spaces are limited, please reserve in advance online or by phone. More dates are available for groups by request.

This was one of the best things we've done in PR. I'd give Hacienda Tres Angeles more stars if I could! We love tours and learning about the places we visit and if course coffee, so this trip was perfect for us. This place is absolutely beautiful and everyone was exceptionally hospitable. We went with our 12 year old and one year old and we all had a delightful time touring La Hacienda. We took an incredible guided coffee tour with Naomi who was welcoming, friendly and informative. We learned about the Hacienda, coffee farming, interesting facts about the history of coffee, and harvesting and processing of the beans. We concluded with a fabulous coffee tasting and pastry. Every part of our experience was high quality, including the very charming cafe and beautiful views. One thing to note for travelers is to really take a look at the the route you take. We came from the South West and Google maps took us over a mountain on unnamed roads which were somewhat treacherous, especially in a tiny compact car! We found a much more manageable route for the drive back! It was well worth the treacherous drive over the mountain though.

The ambiance of Hacienda Munoz is extraordinary and charming. Nestled in the stirring natural beauty of lush green tropical landscape, the family owned conglomerate includes an excellent restaurant, specialty coffee house, coffee plantation, and a spacious bar area. I remember the sensory pleasure and peaceful tranquility I felt as I walked the property. It was surreal. Ownership has done a remarkable job interconnecting the parts to create a unique property attraction. Based on information I gleaned during my visit it appears their success from start-up to present day is a heart-warming story of passion and hard work. I am a native Puerto Rican. I now reside in Fort Worth, Texas, and recently traveled to Puerto Rico to visit my family. In celebration of Three Kings Day we decided to dine at Hacienda Munoz. It was the perfect choice. It offers an exceptionally fine restaurant with an appealing menu and drink selection, comfortable ambiance and congenial atmosphere. We enjoyed a number of different dishes and each was fantastically delicious. We were also impressed with the prompt service. It was clearly obvious to me their highest priority is that every customer they serve leaves happy. Our dining experience at the restaurant is truly one of the top highlights of my visit to Puerto Rico. They made us feel very special. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
