Fumane Cave is a prehistoric archaeological site in which is still being investigated by a team coordinated by Ferrara University. The cave is open to the public for guided visits. Nearby is a visitors center where it is possible to take part in workshops. Guided visits and excursions to other local prehistoric sites can also be arranged. The visit to Fumane Cave ian interesting journey along the road of human evolution and in particular our last 100.000 years. Neanderthals first and then the first Modern Humans that came to this part of Europe lived in the cave, leaving behind their everyday traces. Fumane Cave is not a show cave and the archaeological materials found here are not kept on site due to their being priceless and delicate. The guides use reproductions and casts to recreate the prehistoric way of life.
