Mercedario, the highest mountain in San Juan, and the seventh of America. Season by season, this hill is receiving more and more international climbers looking for authentic experiences, new challenges and less crowded mountains. Near from Aconcagua, is 6770 meters high above sea level and different ways to get to the summit, some of them not explored or rarely performed. Rock, Ice and Mix climbing with the entire difficulties and lengths spectrum can be done here. Is a wonderful site to discover, doing trekking, climbing, or horseback riding and it hosts some archeological pieces from the Incas and picturesque sceneries.

It is said that it can be cloudy during daytime but in the evening... magic hand take clouds of the sky. It is true! and due to that in Leoncito there is more than 300 clear nights in the year. You can see telescopes and if you are lucky as we were you will listen to the best explanation of how the observatory works and what it is all about - thanks to Cachi and Pepe!!!
