Ourense is a province of northwestern Spain, in the southeastern part of the autonomous community of Galicia. It is bordered by the provinces of Pontevedra in the west, Lugo in the north, León and Zamora in the east, and by Portugal in the south. With an area of 7,278 square km it is the only landlocked province in Galicia. The provincial capital, Ourense, is the largest population centre, with the rest of the province being predominantly rural.

But the winery creation, as we know it now, dates back to 2002 when its sole owner, the harvester José Manuel Blanco Pérez, decides to commercialize their wines under their own brand.

This is a wine cellar restored an old place, which produces high quality wines within the O.D. Ribeira Sacra. In a corner of the Ribeira Sacra, where nature surprises us at every step, it is Ronsel do Sil, near the Parador de Santo Estevo and the Monastery of Santa Cristina, combines tourism with architecture, landscape and oenology. "Ronsel" means "wake groove that leaves a boat when navigating through the water." Ronsel do Sil aims to make his mark of passion and respect for sustainable landscape and wine culture in the Ribeira Sacra. Guided tours of the vineyard and the winery visits are made, explaining the process of making wine, with tastings of wines.
