We went on this tour early Dec.2019. I wasn’t sure what to expect or if I’d enjoy this, since I didn’t think I liked Guinness. What I hadn’t expected was the sheer delight of rollicking thru the hillsides and twisty country lanes chauffeured by a hilarious and charming leprechaun, disguised as a fellow named Shane. He beguiled us with tales and tunes and converted me into a Guinness lover by delivering my first Guinness and black, which is now my favorite beer. What an unforgettable night filled with Irish music and pubs full of singing and laughter! We’ll be looking Shane up again our next visit to Dublin!

Dublin is where pubs are born. Some don't survive, many leave the Irish shore, several have mid-life crises, but few are ageing as gracefully as the stable pubs that bestow so much character on Dublin. Avoid the tourist traps and fake 'Irish' pubs! Escape with the locals to learn how to savour a pint of Guinness. Find out how to ensure you always get a great pint and why it's important! Follow in the footsteps of the Irish literary giants like Patrick Kavanagh, Flann O'Brien and Brendan Behan. If Dublin has hidden gems, they're the pubs that don't advertise to tourists. The locals. The authentic Irish pub where a conversation is flowing faster than the beer, where the character of the pub is as fascinating as the characters in it, where literature, society and history eternally lives. Best time to start is 7 pm assuming you'll have eaten dinner prior to the tour. Bring a pen - you never know what these aged walls will murmur to your thoughts.

Exclusions: Drinks are not included in the price of the tour. You may count on spending around €6-8 per drink.

I loved these tours. Took them back in April of 2019. The first tour I took was a walking tour of Dublin. Ciaran was the tour guide. He was a total history buff and made the tour super interesting. The next day I went on a tour to a seaside village called Howth. I had a tour guide named Stephen. He was very cool and even preformed Shakespeare in the woods for his group. I hope to take these tours again one day.
