Baeza tour well organised and very knowledgeable guide but for me it was too much like a class in building styles with a few stories from the lives of historical characters thrown in. In contrast the Ubeda tour used the buildings to illustrate a very well told history of the town which gave a real feel for how it has developed through the ages. It was very interesting.

The tour guide is very knowledgeable and makes Jaen come to life. He cleverly chose details of the cathedral and the baths to illustrate many interesting things about both sites and puts them in their historical context. The whole tour had a theme - a dragon, the Jaen dragon, which makes what could be a difficult and heavy subject great fun. The addition of a bit of olive oil tasting and discussion of olive farming and sustainable agriculture just toped it off. Thoroughly recommended.
Jaén, an overlaying city from prehistory up to date, strategically placed in a natural border, is crossed by ley lines. Protected by a "legend gecko" and medieval walls, its cathedral is considered the best Spanish Renaissance Gem and influenced many others in South America. With that tour you'll live the city as a local from a single monument and get an overview of local gastronomy too! Everything is inside, so dive-in!
