The winterline museum in Venafro is one of the best and most impressive WWII museums I've ever been too..Luciano was fantastic as a guide and it was a first rate experience. Most impressive is the back story of how these artifacts were found in nearby fields and surrounding mountains. Also impressive is its not just allied artifacts, but all nations that were involved in the conflict, including many German artifacts and uniforms.Highly recommend this stop for any tourist !!!

The modern layout of the Museum shows very well the Roman period of Venafrum, with a rich section about San Vincenzo al Volturno abbey. You can find statues, frescoes, a unique chess play from X century (probably the only so old chess in Europe), pieces of marble/mosaic pavements, insciptions, insciptions about the local aqueduct, and so on. Here Is possibile to collect some free tourist guides about Boiano, Isernia, Termoli etc. A not-to-miss place in Venafro. August 2020 update :the Museum is open in the morning tue-sun until 1.15 pm
