Bodega Pirineos is one of the oldest wineries in the Somontano Designation of Origin. Created in 1964 as a wine growers cooperative, it has been growing without losing its essence. A mixture of tradition and modernity, your visit is an excellent journey through the history of wine in the Somontano. If we add to this the tasting of their wines, this is a great way to spend a different day with family or friends.

Bodega Pirineos is one of the some wineries located in Somontano Region, in Aragon, in the North of Spain. We visited it because I like very much 3404 red wine (3404m is the altitude of Aneto Mountain, the highest peak in Iberian Peninsula). Here, we could do a guided visit in harvest time (9th of September) and it really was very interesting, also the staff was very friendly with us (thank you, it was a great visit!). After the visit we could taste some wines, in fact we could taste all wines that we wanted, really it was an exceptional tasting moment with a local cheeses and cured sausages. In fact, in all travel we decided only taste wines of this winery. A top in Somontano Region.

An interesting tour and wine tasting that we would have benefitted more from if there was information in English. But I'd recommend anyway, the guide was really friendly despite the language barrier and the fact we didn't arrive on time. Good value at 5 euros.

10. Spanish Pyrenees, an intensive workshop of medicinal plants (Private tour)

Calle Balneario, 11, 22650 Baños de Panticosa, Huesca, Spain Jesús Alba Svitil

Panticosa Spa is a glacier hole in the middle of Spanish Pyrenees; a granite hole rounded by peaks more high than 3000 meters. It has 4 lakes at less one hour of walk, 11 at less 2 hours and circa 80 at 4 hours! And has a multitude of species of trees, shrubs, flowers and mushrooms that grow along its trails. I propose you to visit some of the most unknown, and of greater diversity, where we will learn to identify those species that serve to heal or eat. A comfortable and entertaining tour, in which we will lack time. There is a specific path. There are few loops between a forest of maples, Scottish pines and black pines to the first fields, meadows and a small trough where the forest is closed again over streams and springs water (30 ') to ascend to a small pass, already in sight of the first lake of the Lumiachas (1 hour; and the time to take photos, identify plants ..) After, we'll return along the waterfalls of Caldarés river (1:30 am) to the Casa de Piedra refuge. We'll rest and review what we have found, resolve doubts and take a walk to the hot spring water and the lake to end!
