The course begins with a quick overview of the differences between the various coffee in the world, including some famous as the Kopi Luwak, the Jamaica Blue Mountain and the world of the Coffee Specialties. The course continues with a visit of the roasting company and the assessment of different blends and single origin. Then you start to work as Barista: the rules of the espresso, the cappuccino and the latte art, with the possibility to prepare your own cappuccinos with the heart.
Inclusions: All the best coffees of the world
Exclusions: Hotel pickup and drop-off
I did the Basic Barista one day course and was astounded by the quality of the teaching and information gleaned from the instructors. Our main teacher , Robert, was superb. He’s knowledge of all things coffee related was encyclopaedic and his manner and demeanour were outstanding. His passion for his job enthused us all. The teaching facilities were of a high standard and the lunch at a local workers club for €10 was also a highlight. I have attended a similar barista course at a different institution in London but this experience beats it hands down. Would strongly recommend !

" We had an awesome food tour with Matteo. He was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. We started out tour with an espresso. We then toured a small market, stopping to taste delicious cured meats, cheeses, fried dough and fresh fruit. We learned about some typical Florentine sweets and got to taste them of course. The highlight for us was the wine tasting. We explored the cellar of the wine store and sipped some wonderful Italian wine. Out tour culminated with a yummy gelato. A perfect way to top off a great tour! "

Enjoy a 15 kilometer bike tour around the Tuscan countryside and discover the saffron's secrets, just a few kilometres from Florence and into Mugello, a little slice of heaven. After a short walk into the small village of Vicchio and around its beautiful lake, begin your ride into the countryside, away from traffic. Along the way you’ll meet a Romanesque Church, a Villa from the Medicean era, and see the home of Giotto, always surrounded by nature and the typical Tuscan landscape. Halfway through the ride, you’ll stop at a saffron farm. Meet the local farm animals, see the bee hives and vineyard, and taste some delicious saffron-flavored products (honey, cheese, biscuits, herbal tea), while the owners show you how to grow saffron. We wanted to see a little of ‘real’ Tuscany outside of Florence and were not disappointed! Simone gave us excellent instructions before we arrived on getting to Dicomano- even adjusting our tour time to fit train schedules- and helped us explore and learn more about this beautiful area. He talked about the history of the area, showed us a traditional farmhouse and explained how people lived and farmed, and pointed out the local flora, inviting us to taste freshly picked figs, grapes and tomatoes, as well as smelling many herbs along the way. The winery was also lovely, with incredible views (worth the hike!) and we were treated to 3 types of wine as well as delicious local produce including organic cheese, salami, bread and their own olive oil. At the end of the trip he went above and beyond- our bus back didn’t turn up so he gave us a lift to an alternative station so we could easily get back to Florence. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking something different on their trip to Florence- or even to explore this part of Tuscany further!

A tour that will rejoice your senses and where you will visit places of great Florentine heritage. We will focus on discovering the origins of the art of perfumery, herbal craftsmanship and infusions made with particular herbs. We will walk the streets of the historic center of Florence, we will tell you the curiosities about the Medici family, and their links with alchemy and in particular the "Studiolo di Francesco I" inside Palazzo Vecchio. Finally we will take you and we will leave you in the most exclusive Fiorentina tea house that for 40 years, thanks to its owner, offers its customers, who often become his friends, a real taste-olfactory sensory experience that consists in a tasting of tea coming from all over the world, accompanied by desserts and biscuits made specifically for each type of drink.
