Basilica San Nicola

Beautiful church and highly evocative because of the story behind its dedication to Saint Nicholas, which is very much part of Bari's identity.

Cattedrale di San Sabino

Reviewed By TheMarshal84 - Liverpool, United Kingdom

A charming Romanesque Church in the heart of the old city, Cattedrale di San Sabino is definitely worth a look if your religious or not. Built over the ruins of the Imperial Byzantine cathedral destroyed in 1156 by William I 'Wicked' of Sicily, the building is mostly 12-13 century in construction and holds artistic treasures that span the cities long and at times complex past. Free (as most cathedrals in Italy are), and a great way to stay out of the rain (if you're visiting offseason). please allow 20-40 mins, if you just wish to see the cathedral on its own.

I Trulli di Alberobello - World Heritage Site

A collection of 1,400 beehive buildings built and lived in by peasants.

Reviewed By ZahidMalti - London, United Kingdom

Alberobello is a lovely town in Puglia which, while being a World Heritage site preserving Trulli architecture in a theme park like environment, also conveys a sense of vibrant Southern Italian life. Worth adding to your exploration of Puglia even if just for a day visit.

Gravina Sotterranea

In 2005 a group of speleologues leaded by Mr Michele Parisi, discovers and makes know to people tunnels, cisterns, aqueducts, cells, rocky churches, barns, old furnaces hidden in meanders placed under the city centre. In this suggestive world they discovered great towers and ruins of old city walls. It is very interesting to admire the historical cells of the Ducal Palace (the house in which pope Benedict XIII was born), the cell placed under the seat of Gravina Souterrain.
