The Barcelona L'Aquàrium is located in the old harbour, Port Vell, and is the world's most important marine leisure and education centre dedicated to Mediterranean undersea life. It is the perfect place to find out about the seabed and all its different species. You'll learn about them through the 66 Mediterranean and tropical tanks which are home to 11,000 animals from some 450 different species. The most spectacular of all is the immense Oceanarium, the only one in Europe. A transparent 80-metre-long tunnel runs through the Oceanarium where you can walk among sharks, giltheads, morays, ocean sunfish and many more species. Planeta Aqua and Explora! show the importance of water in the development of our planet, and kids can discover the underwater world by using their five senses.
honestly, ive been to maybe 4/5 different aquariums and sealife centers but this was in the top 2 by far!! Amazing staff! Awesome welcome photo and the sea life on display were active and looked healthy and strong!

great zoo with lots and lots of different animals in decent sized enclosures Elephants wolves hippos rhinos tigers jaguars gazelle zebras monkeys chimps gorillas seals penguins bears some fantastic reptiles including komodo dragons snakes and alligators. The bug house was closed but The aviary was open. The aquarium was disappointing and there are no longer any dolphin shows (something to do with a law about animal shows) however we went to the big aquarium in the harbour so it was ok. At the time it seemed tgey were doing work on the elephant enclosure, making it bigger perhaps? Lots of toilets around and a few cafes more will be open in the summer though I guess. Was about 20 euros each to get in. Nice few hours spent☺
