Fragua de Pablo Respaldiza

Situated in the historic centre of Artziniega, it is a craftsman's workshop, restored by the Ethnographic Association Artea, which served Artziniega and its surroundings. All kinds of tools were made by the hands of the blacksmith: domestic implements, farming tools, horseshoes, nails, screws, railings and specially the wagon wheel for the oxen carts which were even sold outside the Basque Country. Various documents vouch that this activity was undertaken in Artziniega since the Middle Ages. This trade has formed part of our history and styles of life of our forefathers.
