Things to do in Prague, Bohemia: The Best Walking Tours

May 18, 2022 Sheron Bogner

The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

Michal did a private virtual tour for my group yesterday, which was excellent. He was engaging, very knowledgeable and the photos were fantastic. He tailored it to the interests of my group, and I got A LOT of positive feedback after. I would highly recommend a tour with Michal, and hope to get to Prague one day to do his tour in person.

I'm very happy with the tour! despite of the covid situation and that I was the only one on the tour they made a great effort to make it happen, they could have cancelled but they didn't. I had an amazing time with my guide Sofia, she has very good english skills and LOT of knowledge about the city. Although we were not able to take the cruise because of covid I'm very happy with the tour, I had a great time and learned a lot about the city. 100% recommended.

This was such a great experience! Bonita, our excellent guide, gave us a Zoom walking tour in which she interwove history with architecture and sites which make Prague so unique and worth visiting. Originally from New York, Bonita talks non stop for an hour as she walks from the famous Old Town square through the nearby streets. Even if you've been there before, you will learn new information and see buildings and typography which will thrill you. At the end, you'll want to book tickets to see Prague for yourself, but in the meantime, I recommend seeing some of it through Bonita's eyes. Her husband is her camera man, and he did a great job weaving through the cobblestone streets and coming close up to windows so we could see inside. They do other tours also. Try Insight Cities yourself.

Prague's Old Town has architecture is as old as the city itself. Founded in the early 1200's much of the gothic work is still being used. The lack of bombing during WWII helped that preservation. With that age comes a complex history of a city on the border between the East and the West. On this tour, you will discover a people that wanted religious reform before Martin Luther, the location of perhaps the most historically significant execution in Europe and one of the more unique clocks in the world. Learn of the love for art that is still a large part of the culture. If you love beautiful scenery and interesting stories this tour is for you!

Inclusions: This is a live-streamed virtual tour with a guide walking the streets at the time of your booking.

Exclusions: Gratuities and tips.

Before coming to Prague both me and my girlfriend had very limited knowledge about much of central and eastern Europe's history. With that in mind we wanted to get a tour that would teach us about the area. This tour was amazing, our guide Karoline was brilliant with a deep knowledge and passion for the area, all delivered with a good bit of humor. It was amazing to learn about the velvet revolution and to see the images of the marches. Would 100% recommend this tour if you're interested in seeing some more of prague than the square etc. and learning in the process!
