Things to do in Prague, Bohemia: The Best Hop-On Hop-Off Tours

September 15, 2021 Rebbecca Marino

The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

We use Hop On, Hop Off bus tours everywhere in the world on our first day in a new city. This gives us our bearings and lets us know what we want to go back and explore further. We have never been disappointed........before. This Prague tour was a shambles. Firstly we booked and paid at Wenscelas Square. We were then led through the streets (cobblestone) for about it 20minutes of walking, to a place where the bus departed from. It was a hot day - we and many others were not impressed! Had we been told this was going to happen, we would not have booked the tour. When we got to where the bus was parked, we were told it was full and were led to an ordinary bus. Bear in mind, we’d paid for the privilege of being on the open air bus. From there we were taken to Prague Castle, and told if we weren’t visiting the castle, we’d have to swap to the ‘real’ bus. During this time, people had no idea what was going on, the young girl guide on the bus, explained because of the summer crowds they couldn’t manage with just one tourist bus. We stayed on the bus, did the circuit and got off at the end of the route. The bus was not very clean, windows were dirty, audio was not always in sync and by far the less comprehensive of any of these tours we’ve done. We were disappointed and would not recommend this tour.

Such a Bad experience. After we bought Tickets and were happily waiting for the tour the Bus did not came for hours. After heading back to the Center we got to know that they do not follow their own Bus Route. The Person who sold the Tickets was just lying about everything. We wasted about 120€. Talking to the Manager was another waste. Waste of Time. They were lying and just a fraud. We weren‘t the only one. A Group of about 15 People had the same Problem. Dont waste your money and Holiday!!!
