The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

Founded in the early 18th century and located below Prague Castle, this enchanting garden is designed in the Renaissance style.
Entrance is off the street, just past the Wallenstein Palace, then go in beside the Furstenburg Palace. Before climbing the steps, and hidden round the side, is the entrance kiosk, where you pay just a few Kcs. You slowly climb steps, towards the castle walls, getting better views at each level. From the top level, you can see over most of Mala Strana. As another reviwer stated, we also found a small wedding group here for photos.

Located on the grounds of the magnificent Waldstein Palace, this elegant 17th-century garden is designed in the baroque style with classical bronze statues and gurgling fountains.
We went to this place as it was on my itinerary and the bonus was my year old was napping in his buggy and it was noon time, hence perfect to sit down and grab something to eat till then. We went inside and were welcomed by this huge beautfiul pond, we found a place to sit under a tree and into the shade to take a break from the sun. It was nice and breezy with trees around. Loads of big koi fish's in the pond. once my toddler was up, he enjoyed thoroughly walking and running around the pond, looking at all the fish and the white peacock too. once done from that area, we made our way down near the palace, its nice and huge and the views are beautiful and scenic with Prague castle in the view. nice and well maintained gardens. Lots of open space for kids to burn their energy running around. We had an enjoyable afternoon there.

When you descend from Vyshgrad Castle with steep stairs, you reach the Vlatava River side. When you head east to see the urban texture from here, it is absolutely necessary to visit Charles University's Botanical Garden (Botanická zahrada) in a very close distance .. The most important of the "Beautiful City" principles is that there are parts of nature that can immediately escape and take shelter in the crowd and density of the city. Botanická zahrada is also a place to relax, learn, have fun and please all the senses. The Botanical Garden is large and covers almost 70 hectares. The Prague botanical garden is an oasis of peace and tranquility. There is a vast territory with giant trees, herb gardens, greenhouses, open-air exhibitions with various gardens and vineyards. Open exhibitions cover a very large area. I walked along a beautiful stony path while watching the plants. The garden is located on a hill and many paths run up and down the hill. The botanical garden reveals beautiful views of the landscape and plants. St. With exhibition spaces such as Clara's historic vineyards, a Japanese meditation garden, and the unique tropical Fata Morgana Greenhouse, it is truly worth a visit. Divided into three separate regions with different temperature and humidity rates, the 130 m long greenhouse offers a journey in tropical nature at any time of the year.

Not much have changed since my childhood visits , not much has changed since my last review below. It is a great park to visit, definitely less touristy than the nearby Petrin. Beautiful in every season ....

2 years later, we came back to the gardens , only to discover that the same show was going on. I wrote a long review from the past experience, plus others from previous visits. I thought I would just summarize the past reviews and include our last experience. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had plenty of time to take in the Vinobrani festivities. There was dancing on stage, food stalls and wine tasting just like in the years past. We enjoyed it all, the fun atmosphere , the manicured gardens, the panoramic views. For part of our trip we were staying in the Hotel Savoy - in the Castle area. We had more time to linger, it was an afternoon to remember ...

Just off the hustle and bustle of Wenceslas Square, is the Franciscan Garden with nice trees and green grassy areas. It’s a charming garden where you can sit amidst the greenery and enjoy the scenery. There is an excellent view from here of the Church of Our Lady of the Snows, which is located around the corner from here. You can best appreciate how high the vaults (112 feet) of this church are from the garden – quite impressive.

My favorite Baroque garden in Prague. As beautiful as it is , I must admit that I am partial to anything and everything in the Mala Strana area. I remember coming here, when it was largely unkept, in disrepair, during the communist era, but still beautiful in its own right. Over the years coming back to Prague and staying in the hotel Aria , with the Vrtba garden in its " backyard, " we had many opportunities to enjoy the garden with unlimited access from the hotel. Whether it is worth to pay for entrance, is of course subjective. I don't mind. There are wedding parties photographed on the weekends, they may limit access . We have seen several from hour hotel windows during our past visits . Best views are from the very top of the garden. More steps to climb ! Great photos opportunity . Best time to visit : June - August.
