Poznan was once the capital of Poland and is still the capital of the Wielkopolska region. Poznan lies midway between Berlin and Warsaw, which has helped make it an important town for centuries. Badly damaged in World War II, the city (especially its Old Town) has been beautifully restored. The huge Old Town Square (Stary Rynek) is one of Europe’s nicest, and is lined by fabulous historic attractions, restaurants and nightlife. The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is Poland’s oldest cathedral.

This museum is located in Górka Palace. Interesting museum holding the only Egyptians obelisk in Poland. A rich exhibition, amazing artefacts from Stone Ages, quite big amount of Egyptian and Sudan artifacts . All exhibitions are marked with Polish and English language tags with plenty of explanations. The museum provides audio guide in English and it's included in the ticket price. Not expensive. The museum itself is free on Saturdays. Excellent place, especially for families with children (special audio guide, points of little explorers). Overall very interesting and worth a visit.

The inside is not the biggest place, but the staff was friendly and there was good looking collections on clothes/uniforms and weapons. Mostly from ww2. The outside is the place that kinda makes your heart beat a little extra. Yet again, if u have a intrest in old military stuff you are gona love it!! I have never seen such diversity in stuff, helicopters, aircrafts, tanks, artillery. There was a loot of stuff!! So 5/5 stars! Only 2 points i wish to take up. First, the restoration of the outside collection, this museum will not remain forever if everything is being kept outside. Would be a big shame if the airplanes for example would brake down. Last thing and this should alredy bin done i think! Have the information signs in English! I mean, come on. Most people who visit museum are turist and as a swede, im sorry but i dont know polish. Maybe "thank you" and "vodka" but thats it.
