The best way hands down to learn about this amazing island is to book the full day tour with Antonio. He is so knowledgeable and professional. It only took until lunch time, to realize that we wanted to extend our time with him, so we scheduled 2 more days of tours that he customized listening to our interests. Bonuses: photography tips that he shares along the way, his fantastic stories, the company van is comfortable and luxurious, lunch at local places, many recommendations. We feel like we made a true friend on the island. I highly recommend any tour with Antonio.

This tour is perfect for those who want to get acquanted with the city and its successive changes, with the leggacy of the different civilizations from the Romans to the Arabs, and the inovative urban layout after the great earthquake of 1755. Lisbon is considered by many to be one of the most spectacular European cities, where the perfume of its “designer” shops mixes with its the human warmth.. If you looking for a professional service to drive and guide you through this beautiful country, the owner of Windland Tours, Goncalo Oliveira, is your man! We hired Goncalo for four days to drive us from western Spain to Porto, Fatima, Coimba and Lisbon. Goncalo is the consummate professional (punctual, courteous,) an excellent driver, nearly fluent English and has a deep knowledge of the history and culture of the Portuguese people which he shared with us on our daily walking tours of each city. He also knows the best restaurants and interesting neighborhoods not always on the typical tourist itinerary. We can't thank Goncalo enough for making this trip one of the best vacations we have had. We hope to return in the future, and our first call will be to Goncalo to arrange the next trip!

It was an incredible and perfectly organized experience. Alfredo (our guide) picked us up at our place at 8:30 am sharp and drove us very safely to Douro valley. There we visited our first two vineyards (or Quintas) in the morning, then had a good lunch with an amazing river view, took a boat ride where we could see the majestic scenery of the valley. After the boat ride, we visited our third and last vineyard before driving back to Porto. He is very knowledgeable on the local wine history and techniques. It is easy to see how much he loves and respects the subect. On COVID related (New Normal) measures, we all wore face masks during our trip, every winery complied the key health measures (social distance, masks, sanitizer, etc) - I thought this might help some other travelers take the decision. We will always remember this day!

Hello, My wife & I were a part of this small group tour with another Brazilian family. Our guide was Micael Neto.He was very friendly & very approachable from the start of the tour.He drives well & is able to communicate his point in English. We personally preferred the Aveiro part to Coimbra. The Costa Nova beach & the light house were fantastic. The Moliserro cruise is an experience one should have.We had lunch & Avos Moles at the Market Square at Cafe Pixinho. The Coimbra tour was mainly a university, cathedral & the market square. Speaking personally about Micael a few incidents which stood out for me, a)He found a restaurant in Aveiro which serves vegeterian food for us. b)In Coimbra when the others were busy in the university he took us to the Botanical Garden & Cathedral. c)He helped us plan the rest of our trip in Porto & Lisbon with his suggestions. d)He even recommended places to have vegeterian food near our hotel. e)He ensured that each members personal interests were taken care off during the tour.He made it a point to understand our likes & dislikes.Eg.He made it a point to show me the storks nests & the Dragao stadium. The tour was well organised as any other but Micael was very good & would highly reccomend travelling with Micael to anybody in the future. Cheers, Dr.Vidhi & Harshit

These guys seriously know what they are doing so rest assured that you will feel like family by the end of the day. We had NUNO as our driver for the first tour booked to see the northwest of the island. A group of digital nomads and myself (a teacher) met for the first time and decided to book a second tour a few days later to visit the east (Madeira peaks). The 4•4 vehicles allow you to take the old Madeiran roads (old kings roads) that you otherwise could not access, therefore allowing you to see unique vegetation, history and also experience off the beaten path (literally) waterfalls, levadas, and gorgeous scenery. Every tour is unique with many opportunities to stop to take photos, visit local restaurants/cafes and rum factories, poncha bars. These guys bring their passion of their island to life and give you a very personal account of this unique island. I also appreciated that they kept us away from big touristic restaurants and shops. They support the locals and that is obvious by the markets we stopped at and little taverns we ate at. I appreciated that they picked me up on the other side of the island so I wouldn’t miss the adventure. A big thank you to Fernando, the owner who was very quick to contact us via WhatsApp to confirm everything. I am grateful to have met Nuno and want to thank him for giving me the most memorable days of the trip! Miss it already!

We went on the kings Levada walk with Alvaro our guide ,The walk was an easy one a bit slippery here and there but Alvaro takes care to tell you where and how to proceed at all times ,he was so informative with a fab sense of humour .So we booked another walk with him straight away as we enjoyed it so much .Just be aware you do need boots or good walking shoes when doing these guided walks we saw someone in flip flops attempting the walk he didn’t finish it !! He wasn’t with our group though .
