Pulau Ketam, literally translated, means “crab island”. It is a small island located off the coast of Klang. The island is easily accessible from the Port Klang jetty by ferry. The “floating houses” that come to view as visitors approach the island is a sight to awe any city slickers. Perching casually on long wooden stilts, these dwellings are suspended about one to ten (1-10) metre above sea level. Pulau Ketam is the best opportunity for visitors to witness and experience the unique lifestyle of fishermen. Homestay facilities are readily available. And, Pulau Ketam also having a very special viewpoint with town city where this island escape from air polutions, traffic jams, finding car parking problem etc. Seafood is a natural wonder of this isle, and Pulau Ketam is renowned for fresh crabs, prawns and fish. We only booked Izam the day before and we arrived early at the cruise terminal to find him waiting for us. The car was clean and the air conditioning was a must. His driving through busy traffic was brilliant, much better than going by coach in to Kuala Lumpur. He took us to all the major sights, explaining everything en route and even stopped when we fancied a Starbucks coffee. His English was very good and he was very knowledgeable. Well done Izam.

Great day started with a fantastic driver Dhevan. Extremely informative and went out of his way to discuss area. Also gave us time for ourselves as we toured around Melaka. Dhevan pointed out other sites of interest around the area. I recommend a visit here. Being collected and dropped off at our hotel was fantastic. We were so impressed we used Dhevan to transport to the airport the following day.

We decided to do the tour once we arrived and are so glad we did. Our guide, Uda was very knowledgeable and helpful. He showed us all the sites, took us to feed the elephants and taught us many things about them. We also opted for the elephant bathing. This was amazing and so neat to be close to the elephant in the water.
