The hill of Banné, above Porrentruy, gave its name to a fossiliferous geological member called "Marnes du Banné" by Jules Thurmann. The fossil richness of these marls is highly appreciated by the public (scientists, students, schoolchildren and tourists) and allow easy discoveries of the incredible fauna of invertebrates that inhabited the Jurassic Sea nearly 152 million years ago. . Since the end of 2013, an information pavilion and a search area have been created at this historic site, allowing families and students to experience the profession of paleontology.

Porrentruy castle is right at the top of Switzerland near to Delle in France so it's logically the best place for the Swiss parliament and foreign embassies and when you study the history of the castle you will understand! For the moment it's a very fine castle and it's always open to walk around outside. A great place for meetings and an apero. Welcome to the JURASSIC REPUBLIC !!!
