Located just across Kozjak Lake from Entrance 2, Burgeti Lakes will be the first lakes you come across in the Upper Lakes area of the park (if you're using Entrance 2 as your starting point). Beautiful clear (yet also blue--not sure about the chemistry on that one but I reckon it has something to do with algea?) water, as you'll see with all the lakes.

Another beauty, just like the rest of the lakes in Plitvice Jezera NP. Gavanovac Lake is in the Lower Lakes section, so it's most easily (quickly) accessed from Gate 1. Clean, clear, turquoise water through which you can see a fair few fish.

Although the lowest and one of the smallest lakes in this system, it is gorgeous. With the waterfalls flowing both into and out of the lake, it is lovely and not to be missed.

We went to the park not really knowing what to expect. But soon after entering we looked down from the observation point and saw many cascades which were incredibly beautiful. Then we leasurely walked around the park for abou 4 hours. We could have spent more time here but there was an older couple with us. I would strongly recommend anyone going to Croatia to definitely find time to visit this beautiful park with many many cascades and water falls.

Gorgeous falls, like the rest in the park but maybe one of my faves. This area can get congested though, so best to visit early in an attempt to avoid the herds. Veliki Prstavac is in the Upper Lakes area, so most easily accessed by entering at Gate 2 and taking the short ferry across and walking up from there.

Must be 8 levels of falls. Beautiful water, clear and full of trout. Excellent hiking path for 3 miles. Use bus to top....start 1/2 way no need to go to top, same views but better on lower half unless you enjoy hiking. Boards are tough to see, watch your step.
