Things to do in Phuket, Thailand: The Best Ferries

May 21, 2021 Moriah Teneyck

Thailand’s largest island is an international magnet for beach lovers and serious divers, who enthusiastically submerge themselves in the Andaman Sea. Blue lagoons and salmon sunsets make for a dream-like atmosphere, and indeed, a vacation here can feel a bit surreal. Watersports are the most popular activities, though once you’ve had enough sun there’s still plenty to explore at the island’s aquariums, gardens, and Buddhist temples.

We were worried about taking this ferry from Rassada Pier, Phuket to Railey Beach after reading such terrible reviews however we were very satisfied with the trip & felt it was only fair to comment with our positive experience! It should be expected that if you are booking a speedboat the ride is going to be a little bumpy, because the boat drives fast! I am not sure what others were expecting when they booked the tickets to be honest....as long as you expect the boat to be a speedboat then you will be fine with the trip (the boat is smaller in comparison to the large and slow ferries & drives fast but derrrr its a ‘speedboat!’) We were picked up on time by a lovely driver who was one of the nicest drivers we ever met. She drove us to the pier where we checked in and waited for the boat. Everything ran to time! The boats conditions were completely fine! Everyone had a lifevest on their seats and at no moment did we ever feel unsafe or afraid! So many comments mention the boats being in poor condition but this was definately not the case for all the tigerline boats i saw that day!! The only thing i should mention was we had to change boats on phi phi island. The stop over was two hours long however we were so happy with this as we got time To explore the island which we had planned to do a day trip to anyway, so it saved us money!! We actually ended up arriving to Railey Beach ahead of schedule! The staff we also very friendly and helped us on and off the boat and we always nice when we spoke to them. I have nothing negative to say about our experience
