I have been living and working in Southern Vietnam for 10 years and I love this country very much. On our first time to visit the North, we decided to travel to Ha Giang, Ban Gioc Waterfall, and Ba Be Lake. We chose Conical Travel according to one of our friends who did the trip with them. The six-day trip amazed and impressed us with the beauty of the natural landscape in the moutainous areas. Each of the destinations we visited has its own mesmerizing features and we had chance to interact with the local people. Our kids had great lessons about how the people in these regions survive without the modernization. In short, the trip was very very very excellent. We love Vietnam so much, from the bottom of our hearts! Andrew, Lorna & kids

Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng national park is home to the largest cave in the world and covers 300 different grottoes and caves. Reachable by train or car through Dong Hoi city, it is place to natural scenic wonders and home to friendly locals. The jungle, the river, the cascades, the single trails and the narrow winding concrete roads are making the spot a paradise for any active traveler in research of fun. Adding to this the beauty of the sceneries, the biggest caves in the world’s region and a simple but nice little lodge, and you get a must-visit spot for your journey across Vietnam.

I booked a bike trip with this company. everyone but me had cancelled and yet the company said nothing to me. I then had to cancel after I arrived in Vietnam....due to covid....and the company ghosted me. I have emailed many times while I was stuck in Vietnam and once home. They have never replied. No refund, no credit no email to help me while I was there and no email once home and time has passed. Terrible customer service and no interest in their customers at all.
Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng national park is home to the largest cave in the world and covers 300 different grottoes and caves. Phong Nha Cave was regarded by British Caving Association as the top cave in the world due to its top four records: the longest underground river, the highest and longest cave, broadest and most beautiful fine sand beaches inside the caves, and the most spectacular stalagmites and stalactites. In the survey conducted in April 2009, the British cave explorers discovered 20 new caves with total length of 56 km, including world's largest cave Thien Duong. According to the assessment of UNESCO, "The karst formation of Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park has evolved since the Palaeozoic (some 400 million years ago) and so is the oldest major karst area in Asia" and "Phong Nha displays an impressive amount of evidence of earth's history. It is a site of very great importance for increasing our understanding of the geologic, geomorphic and geo-chronological history of the region.

We had a great time at the workshop for a quiet Sunday morning session. Mr Tan was very informative and skilled. The workshop is well-equipped and has excellent ventilation. We learned a number of techniques including manual and electric tools, and we ended up with 2 nice bamboo containers for flowers (or possibly for beer).
Over 15 days, you’ll have the opportunity to delve a little deeper to parts of Vietnam where very few people go. Some of the highlights include visiting endangered primates in the beautiful Trang An, exploring one of the largest caves in the world, a scenic drive along the Hai Van pass made famous by the show Top Gear, sampling some of the world’s best coffee, tackling rapids while white water rafting and a cruise through canals of the Mekong Delta to name just a few. This trip certainly packs a punch!

We chose Mr Linh's based on our friends' recommendation. The replies from the agent were prompt, and it was easy to make changes or ask questions. Our itinerary was fairly straight forward, and you can check all the accommodations as they provide an itinerary with links to hotels and homestays. Both our guide and driver were excellent. At all times we felt safe when Mr Long was behind the wheel. Mr Son was very knowledgeable about the area, and he also picked up quickly our favourite dishes and our average hiking/trekking speed. We did a 9D/8N trip, and had to do small changes along the way (like skipping motorbike riding as it was a rainy day going from Ha Giang to Dong Van, and then staying one extra night in Dong Van waiting for the rain to stop). The changes were not an issue to Mr Son. We had a small misunderstanding, but even that was duly noted and communicated to us. We went to places where there were no other tourists, and it was really wonderful to enjoy the fresh air, amazing sceneries, colourful tribes and see people at their daily chores. Our itinerary was Hanoi-Hoang Su Phi-Ban Phung-Ha Giang-Dong Van-Cao Bang/Quang Uyen-Ban Gioc Falls-Quang Uyen-Hanoi. To see the rice fields in full colour, I would suggest going latest early October. Around mid-October a lot of the rice had already been harvested, but still plenty being harvested by the locals, mostly women. I would strongly recommend Mr Linh's for travels to Northern Vietnam.
On each trip day, our guide and driver also will pick you up and drop you off at hotel of each destination. Route: Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Puluong-Ngoc Lac-Kim Lien – Vinh – Huong Khe – Phong Nha – Camlo – Khe Sanh – Aluoi – Hue -Hoi An – My Son – Da Nang

The 1st km was not impressive. Too much artificial lighting. Too many people who do not truly appreciate nature and understand the value of what they are experiencing. The wonder started the moment you left the wooden walkway onto the cave platform, and walk for another 6km into the dark. We took the tour at the end of May. We had to wear protective helmets. The cave was huge and cool, decorated with stalactites and stalagmites of various sizes and shapes. Once we turned off all the lights and stood in absolute darkness and silence to experience the sounds inside the cave. We swam across a little stream. The water was refreshing. We did some rock climbing. Not dangerous at all, just kind of adding spices to the walk. At the end of the cave, the cave opened and let a stream of sunshine pour in. The tour guides brought lunch for us. The grilled chicken was so yummy. It was a marvelous trip. We highly recommend this tour.
