Phetchaburi (Thai: เพชรบุรี, pronounced [pʰét.t͡ɕʰā.bū.rīː]) or Phet Buri (pronounced [pʰét bū.rīː]) is a town (thesaban mueang) in southern Thailand, capital of Phetchaburi Province. In Thai, Phetchaburi means "city of diamonds" (buri meaning "city" in sanskrit). It is approximately 160 km south of Bangkok, at the northern end of the Thai peninsula. As of 2005, the town had a population of 26,181 and covers the two tambon Tha Rap and Khlong Krachaeng.

We did our own tour, reading ahead of time and as we walked across the bridge. The area is beautiful and has a dark history that is definitely worth researching about ahead of time.

Even Thailand’s famous floating market at Damnern Saduak is within reach from Hua Hin; the market of all Thai markets is a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Combining this with the former hillside residence of the Rama Kings and voila, a great day out!

It was a very nice trip. Not crowded, sea water is clean and clear. The are beautiful coral, sea flowers and varieties of beautiful fish. Sure I will go back soon.
Phetchaburi is known for its traditional Thai desserts and it old Temples and the Famous Summer Palace of King Rama 5 on the Khao Wang Hill where you can have a nice overview over the City.

I spent one day with Bom the tour guide form Ken Diamond Travel Tours in Hua Hien to go Phraya Nakhon and Huay Mongkol Temple. Overall a great experience and worth every Bath and every minute.
