Where to start? After a year of planning our itinerary with Nick of Aura Journeys, we put it into play with 8 days of touring with William. William is professional, but he knows how to have fun with you after he sizes you up. His humor was like spending a week with your best friend from college. Subtle, but pointed, we traded barbs and laughed away the week. No worries about spending a week with a stranger when your guide is William! His knowledge of the area was deep but if he didn't have an answer to your question, he'd look it up and have it for you quickly. He soon got to know what we liked and what we didn't, from meal times and toilet stops, to type of food and sightseeing preferences. We had daily itineraries but we would often adjust based on our own energy level or suggestions from William. Nothing was ever a problem for William. We went to several places William had never been to and he thanked US for taking him there. We ended as good friends and hated to leave him at the end of our journey. Highlights: * Always arrived early with a clean van and lots of water * Very safe driver * Served as photographer when asked - we finally have trip pictures with both of us * Flexible and accommodating * Knowledgeable - great suggestions for restaurants, activities, places to visit and places to skip * He did all the work and let us be tourists rather than trying to drive and read guidebooks while we flew past sights. Did you know that castles can be movie stars too? Doune Castle managed to play Castle Leoch in Outlander, Winterfell in Game of Thrones and Camelot in the classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie. But that's just the beginning! Have a dram (or a full tour) at Deanston Distillery, take a walk in picturesque Callander and discover great Scottish outdoors and Rob Roy's grave in Balquhidder. If you're a big fan of Claire and Jamie, you can get lost in the gardens of Versailles (well, actually Drummond Castle Gardens...), before we visit William Wallace at his monument and hear about his greatest victory. Hop on a perfect day trip with Brambling Bus - what are you waiting for?!
Inclusions: Snacks, Water, Private transportation, Air-conditioned vehicle
Exclusions: Meals
Me and a couple of friends choose the Brambling Bus to go around Callander for a day. It was amazing, perfect road trip with a nice playlist. Sara is an amazing driver and Maciek loves history so be ready to know some good facts to bring home with you! They took us to Callander, we had a nice walk by the Bracklinn Falls and then headed back to town to grab some food at a nice local bakery (delicious homemade pies). We also stopped by a couple of their favorites spots (like the huge antique shop). It was an amazing day, I highly recommend traveling with them. They are lovely and enthusiastic people who love sharing their love and knowledge about Scotland. Thanks Maciek and Sara!

The Scottish Highlands are part of a historic region of Scotland you should definitely visit while in Edinburgh, especially Loch Ness. The dramatic landscape of ancient rocks, deep valleys and sapphire blue lochs will enchant you on a scenic private full-day day trip. For 13-hours, you'll see the best the Scottish Highlands have to offer plus the famous Loch. From the royal court of Linlithgow Palace to the battles of independence that took place at Stirling Castle. Get to know the tragic massacre of Clan MacDonald and hear about the life of Scotland's famous son, Rob Roy. Besides the fascinating yet turbulent history, you will get to enjoy the mesmerizing landscape of the Highlands and admire the nature that surrounds you. With many pit stops for breaks and photo-taking, you can truly capture the essence of the Highlands. See the indigenous hairy cows, wander through quaint towns unravaged by time and explore villages that offer a peek to how locals live.

Evelyn is an absolutely fantastic tour guide. She really knows her city well and brings the myths and legends to life with her amazing stories. The whole family enjoyed the afternoon (despite the rain, which didn't really matter) and in fact it was the highlight of our weekend in Edinburgh. I would thoroughly recommend the myths and legends tour with Evelyn to anybody who is planning a visit to this really interesting city.

Our private tour visits four unique ancient Scottish castles. This tour visits Drummond Castle & Gardens , Stirling Castle , Doune Castle and Linlithgow Palace. Drummond Castle Gardens doubles as the French royal Palace of Versailles in TV drama Outlander. Doune Castle plays Castle Leoch, home to Colum MacKenzie and his clan in Outlander TV series. Stirling Castle is one of Scotland’s most impressive castles due to its imposing position and impressive architecture. Linlithgow Palace is the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and it was the backdrop for some of the most harrowing scenes of the TV show Outlander

This tour has 3 different and unique distilleries. Macallan was a must see for us and when you add Glenfiddich and Glenlivet it was a win. Each one was different enough to make the day interesting, fun and educational. I would not miss Glenlivet or Macallan. Ewan was a fantastic host, kept us on time, knowledgeable on the distilleries, shared his Scotland with us and pointed out “sight-seeing” opportunities as we drove through the Highlands. Prepare for a long day, but worth the investment if learning and experiencing the Scotch making process and history is important to you. The Highlands scenery was a bonus-beautiful country!
