If you're looking for some great Florida beaches but aren't necessarily interested in a mega-resort or theme park atmosphere, Pensacola might just be the place for your perfect weekend. Home to Gulf Islands National Seashore, the city offers some of the best fishing and boating in the area. Inland, canoeing enthusiasts won't want to miss the beauty of the Blackwater River. Closer to town, the city has a proud military heritage, which can be seen at attractions like the National Museum of Naval Aviation and the Pensacola Naval Air Station.

Opened in 1925, generations of Pensacola area residents have walked under the historic Saenger Theatre's marquee to enjoy music, dance, comedy and drama. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Saenger Theatre is home to Broadway in Pensacola, the Pensacola Symphony, Ballet Pensacola, Pensacola Opera, and the Pensacola Children's Chorus. Nationally acclaimed touring acts including concerts, comedians and children's shows along with an annual Summer Classic Movie Series are also part of the rich entertainment offerings on the Saenger stage.
This was the first time that we had attend an event at the Saenger Theatre. We found the historic theatre to be beautiful. The employees were courteous and helpful. The performance was wonderful. We would definitely go again. The only problem we had, was that we were sitting in the upper corner of the theatre and the spot light operator kept banging the spotlight for some reason. I saw Jersey Boys on Broadway, and this performance was equally as good.

This theatre is home to a variety of shows.
I recently attended a show at the Little Theater called Savannah Sipping Society. It was WAY better than I ever imagined. The actresses were hilarious and very good. The most impressive part of the show was that they only used one set for the entire thing. The PLT also offers a very nice refreshment stand before the show and during intermission. I love everything about PLT and I can't wait to go to another show!

Pensacola Just Got Funnier. The historic REX Theatre features America’s best stand-up comics as seen on Comedy Central, HBO, Last Comic Standing & NetFlix and comedy magic with The Illusionist Tom Coverly & variety entertainment as seen on America's got Talent. We will also feature an occasional Blues & Jazz band.
I have been to 4 shows since they started up the shows in November. All the shows have been a great time! Friday nights are stand up comedians and Saturday is a comedy magic show. I haven’t seen the Saturday show yet but have heard good things. The price is reasonable for a standup show and they are cheaper if you buy online ahead of time.

The visitor can either join in the dancing or sit at the tables surrounding the dance room to enjoy such spontaneous show while sipping from a drink or watching people struggle on the mechanical bull
