Bahia de las Aguilas a hidden gem in Dominican Republic eco turism. Elsa Tours and our Turist Guide Tayo surprised us again. We traveled from Punta Cana to the capital Santo Domingo and visited the Los Tres Ojos, Ciudad Colonial complete tour, The Ambar Museum, El Panteon de Los Heroes and visit China Town. We eat at an excellent vegetarian restaurant and rested in Ramada Casino Hotel. At 4:00 am we were up and running. When we saw Bahia de Las Aguilas we couldn't believe it how beautiful it was. We got into the speed boat and enjoy a majestic ride to the Bahia de Las Aguilas. The environment is untouched by human development. The water is Cristal clear and you can open your eyes in the water. Is not that salty as the other ones. No waves yes is true. The water has different shade and the marine life can be seen easily. The fishes swim under your legs. The san is soft and clean. The view is majestic and romantic. Love birds this is the place to say Honey I want to spend the rest of my life with you. We swam all day and stayed in the water all day. No music only nature. I recommend without reservations Bahia de Las Aguilas and I will come back soon to camp for two days. You need a permit to stay over night and is safe.

Awesome visit. The entrance is on the left about 30mins drive South of Paraiso. There are bathrooms at the visitor centre. It cost me US$100 for a 2.5hr trip inc. boat, boatman and guide. Saw much of the lagoon stopping to spot Duck, Heron, Egret, Gulls, Flamingo and others. Visited one island to see the Rhinoceros Iguana and another to see cave-art, both fascinating. Afterwards paid another US$10 to go swimming at natural mangrove pool. Unfortunately it's unmarked on Rt44 (the locals know it well). Anyway it's maybe 4km north of the park entrance, a rough but passible unpaved track to the right. No fee so I marked it on my SatNav and visited again later - sparkling clear water. Highly recommended trip
