First family trip to Italy. There is 150km of pistes over several areas including a glacier. The whole area has snow making so there is always snow although it can get a bit icy where the sun doesn't shine. Ponte di Legno, temp and the glacier are the intermediate advanced area although the blacks are not as challenging as some resorts I’ve been to. I would grade the black on the glacier more like a red. Signage is sometimes not where you expect it and twice my husband missed the run to to a lift. The piste map shows three large free ride areas a completely new off piste play ground when there is good snow. I need to go bac’ and try it. Ski school is run in two hourly blocks. It caters from four years old. It was a little disappointing as my daughter who is only just four learned to ski in Alpe d’Huez last year when she was three so was too good for the tots class but too small for the next class as the ski school has quite large groups and one instructor. Her instructor did recognise the problem and to try and make up for it took her on a torch light descent with the older children. Probably the highlight of my holiday watching my four year old daughter ski in the dark with a torch. We skied a lot with her in the afternoons. Lift attendants were great a5 slowing lifts so she could get on and off the chairs. The resort is snowboard friendly too. The only other irritant is the amount of groups having race training. Every day two or three red runs were shut for race training.

We booked a family lesson for parent & teens of different level. Staff were friendly and making the reservation just took a minute. The lesson itself was *excellent*. Tomas carefully watched each of us skiing, gave each of us a two or three "next steps" to improve our skiing, and then drilled these techniques for the hour. Very clear communicator and very friendly without being syrupy. By contrast, I've been with other instructors who just work through the same drills with every one. We all benefited from our lesson with Tomas and I was blown away by how my skiing improved immediately and enormously. My kids were no longer waiting for 5 minutes for me at the end of a run!! Best lesson ever. Highly recommended.
