Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

In addition to serving as the site for the city's huge Museum of Natural History, this park is also home to a small zoo.
It being winter, not at its most lush, but to make up for it they had illuminated sculptures, (similar to the ones in Hoi An, Vietnam). Wow - a lovely walk in the sun via the turtles, hermit crabs, coral reefs, plenty of seating, to enjoy the park and have lunch. We popped out on the far side of the Jardin and came across one of the Wallace fountains I mentioned in passing - in fact the only one remaining of the mural model, (see review).

Nestled against the seine river is this beautiful green space, we loved just strolling the grounds and investigating the open sculpture park that is spread out over the gardens. Also an unexpected pleasant surprise was the free toilets scattered within, the piccies of such, will make you laugh.

Located across the road from the Cluny Museum - (National Museum of the Middle Ages), is this (oasis of tranquillity) small garden/square dedicated to the politician and mathematician Paul Painleve. There is plenty of seating to enjoy the gardens and admire the: Monument; Puvis de Chavannes Statue; La Louvre Capitoline Statue; dedicated to Michel de Montaigne Fountain; Octave Greard in the shade of the trees that envelop the square.

A small zoo located within the Jardin des Plantes.
great little zoo and park with a nice variety of animals. walking around amongst trees and nature is extremely pleasant. 10 or 13 euros entry fee is very cheap so this is great. 100% recommended
