Things to do in Paris, Ile-de-France: The Best Food & Drink

August 29, 2021 Rebbecca Marino

Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

Paris by Mouth

There’s a reason why our tours are top-rated food tours on TripAdvisor and have been celebrated by The New York Times (twice!) and knowledgable foodies like David Lebovitz and Ruth Reichl: we keep our group sizes tiny, we spend generously at the best shops in town, and we only work with expert guides who have devoted their lives to food & wine. Our tours are in English and last for around 3 hours. They include some walking and standing, but also feature a seated tasting with wine pairings. Our tours are designed for adults. We’re unable to host children under ten years of age. Our price of 110€ per person is a little higher than the competition because we spend more than anyone else on premium tastings and to pay the most experienced and knowledgable guides in Paris. You’re also paying for the tiny group size.

Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and, like that popular girl in school, is overrun by some of the biggest tourism corporations in the world. Ok, the metaphor strains but what we mean is that Paris can be oppressively touristic, with giant multinationals charging you extortionate prices, herding you into huge, impersonal megagroups, and giving the the equivalent of a Big Mac + flaccid french fries for the price of a nice steak/smug waiter in a black vest. (See, we CAN do metaphors!) We, too, aim to one day charge you ridiculous prices, as well (What can we say? We like nice things.) but for now we are a tiny band of friends + friends-of-friends taking you to the both the hidden corners and all the glittery gold stuff of your Paris dreams. (Coming soon, Virtual experiences, plus London and Chicago.) Think of us like your slightly deviant, yet bizarrely well-informed, long-lost cousins, rabid to take you around our Paris. Are you Curious?
