In July 2016, Las Islas Travel and Tours officially banned the use of plastic and styrofoam on all islandhopping tours as a vote for the environment. This includes a ban on single-use plastic including plastic straws, plastic bottled water, styrofoam food packaging, and the like. Finally, in January 2018, Las Islas Travel and Tours received the ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
