Great little railroad local history Museum! The curators of the museum have done a wonderful job of presenting the history of the railroad in Anderson County and Palestine Texas. We are lucky to have a resource like this in our small City. It is close to the visitor station and by the farmers market in the downtown. The folks there a very knowledgeable and helpful! Palestine wouldn’t be here now without the railroad. The big Union Pacific rail yard is right across the street. I’m a former mayor of the city and I may be biased but I highly endorse it!
First Presbyterian Church was founded in 1849. It contains the first pipe organ in Anderson County. The ceiling of the sanctuary was had carved and painted by a German artist. The sanctuary contains numerous stained glass windows including some done by Tiffany and Company.
