Holy Trinity Church Headington Quarry

The Church is super cute and peaceful. It is a little way on a path that is nice. The cemetery is pretty small, which made it easy to find CS Lewis’s grave. Very special spot.

Another Time XI - Anthony Gormley

Reviewed By 968nicholash - London, United Kingdom

You probably wouldn’t see this sculpture unless you were looking for it. It seems quite small to the naked eye, just seven feet high and perched way up high on the roof of the modern annexe of the booksellers, Blackwell on Broad Street. Once you do, it’s an impressive and very modern addition to the Oxford skyline. This is one of a series of 100 statues which make up the Another Time project by the celebrated sculptor, Anthony Gormley. They’re based on moulds of the artist’s own body. Just wish I’d had a pair of binoculars with me!

Martyrs' Memorial

Reviewed By JONBEETRAVELLER - Buckingham, United Kingdom

Being set at the far end of St Giles, the Martyrs Memorial is difficult to miss as you enter the city. Although often overlooked, the monument is well worth a closer inspection and a moment to consider what these three men achieved in the history of Britain. Cranmer, Latimer and Ridley all met their ends in nearby Broad Street, and the memorial is a fitting tribute to their sacrifice. It is a nice piece of architecture and definitely worth seeking out amidst the bustle of central Oxford - it should definitely be on any visitor's list.

Fine Lady Statue

Reviewed By 76pennyb - Banbury, United Kingdom

I took my little grandchildren on a hunt for the unusual and we found it! Have you found the frog or is it a toad hidden by the Fyne Lady Statue? It certainly made looking at this statue much more interesting! It was a good place to start looking for other animals as we started our trip to explore Banbury. You need sharp eyes. But is was such fun. By the time we found the flying pigs, More shiney sun faces than they could count and the hidden stream running through the town centre we were having lots of laughs and even with some exercise thrown in for good measure! Well worth a looksee!
