Imagine making a break from the city, a break from modernity. Make a break from it all and immerse yourself in the world of the Edo Era samurai. Located a mere 45 minute train ride out of Osaka is a temple where you will learn the art and science of being a samurai warrior. You will also spend the night in a large and historic but rarely visited temple that also has a sumo ring, eat three hearty meals, dip your toes into the Zen meditation discipline, and explore a village that peaked in the 18th century. No crowds, no interference. Not a single impediment between you and the making of life-long memories.
Inclusions: Dinner, Lunch, Breakfast, Accommodation as per itinerary, All activities, Transportation from day 1 train station pickup to day 2 train station drop off., Coffee and/or Tea
Exclusions: Food and drinks outside of provisions at meal time., Transportation to/from Izumi Sunagawa Station from Osaka or beyond (the experience starts and ends at this station)
Kevin was awesome. Professional, knowledgeable, and gave us the perfect experience. Easily would’ve taken us 3 days to visit the sites on our own... and we certainly would not have had the context provided from the tour. With COVID a continuing concern, having a vehicle to transport us around instead of hopping on and off a dozen+ trains and busses, was a comforting benefit. Will use this service again when other family comes out to visit Japan in the future.

While we were sad to have to cancel our July trip to Japan due to the pandemic, we found the process of working with Japan Awaits to be easy and efficient. I can't speak to the full experience since we weren't able to go, but filling out the form and our communication with the company was no problem. And their prompt and courteous response to our request for a refund speaks to their professionalism. We will definitely come back to ask for their help in procuring tickets to the Studio Ghibli Museum when we do finally make it to Japan! Fingers crossed for next summer.
