Osaka Culturarium Tempozan

World-renowned architect Tadao Ando designed this simple and elegant museum, whose highlight is the world’s largest IMAX theater, and which also contains changing design exhibits.

Temposan is an interesting part of Osaka to explore. We visited to see the Ando building that is another great example of the relationship between water and buildings. I was surprised that the more aggressive design of the aquarium was next to the Ando building but it made for interesting reflection. The five pillars on the edge of the harbor were exceptional.

Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum

This museum showcases Osakan woodblocks from the Edo period, distinct from those in Tokyo due to their realistic expression of their subjects. Many feature famous Kabuki actors of the period.

Highly recommended cheap option for culture in Namba. 500 yen to go, and ignore the previous reviews - they suggested we took photos - just without flash. I wish I'd known about the opportunity to print my own!
