What a wonderful experience of zooming across the Harbour Bay, puttering along shady silent canals and drifting while photographing swans and cygnets being trained by their parents to swim and eat seaweed. Thank you to Captain Mario for making the trip so memorable with the comfortable seating, romantic music, soft breezes and forgetting all about our recent Covid life.

Wolfe Islander III

Reviewed By starsandsky - Toronto, Canada

The ferry runs regularly throughout the day and is a great way to reach Wolfe's island. Just 20 minutes from Kingston on the ferry, this island with its windmills, scenic vistas, charming houses, shops and restaurants is a great way to relax. During winter the ferry uses a dock that is farther away from the village and as of Oct 13, the shuttle bus to the village is going to be suspended (perhaps due to covid restrictions). This may make getting around more difficult unless you take a car across on the ferry, which you absolutely can! While in the village, check out the charming churches, the eclectic street names and the wonderful paintings that adorn the walls of many public buildings

Toronto Islands Ferries

Reviewed By AwayTooMuch

We have done the Toronto Island ferry quite a few times and we always have a great time. It's amazing how you feel as though you are really getting out of the city. You don't experience any city noise (other than the planes flying over from Billy Bishop Airport) and it is so peaceful. This time, we got a ferry over to Central Island, walked the few kilometres over to Hanlan's Point and got the ferry back from there and it was nice to see other areas of the island; next time, we would like to walk right across. It's a fantastic location in the summer for picnics and swimming, as well as picturesque photo opportunities of the scenery and the best views of the city and skyline you will ever get. The ferry is great value as well and I would recommend this trip to anyone - don't come to Toronto without seeing the Islands!

MS Chi-Cheemaun

The M.S Chi-Cheemaun provides an excellent alternative to hours of highway driving and spectacular views of Georgian Bay. Gourmet Sunset Dinner Cruises are also available.

The last trip of fall for the MS Chi-Cheemaun ferry, which usually travels back and forth to South Bay Mouth, Manitoulin Island, is the Fall Colour trip from Tobermory to Owen Sound, where it is safely stored for the winter months. We took this trip, this fall. Getting up early, we hit the road around 7 am to arrive in Owen Sound for 9 am. Arriving close to 9, we were pleasantly surprised by the close parking availability, where we were to leave the car for the day, while we took a school bus from Owen Sound to the boat in Tobermory. Seemed like a nice day, but it changed once we hit the bay, Georgian Bay that is. The wind was up, the lake was roaring. Now I am not the most boat comfortable person, but I found the trip to be great, not to cold to be outside, and nice and warm, T-shirt warm in the boats lounges. For under $150. for 2, we enjoyed the trip, and the awesome buffet that was served in groups. They had a bar, with reasonable pricing, and an entertainer who kept us all entertained. They also have a spring trip. You have to register early to get tickets for this event, or you will be dis-appointed.

Horne's Ferry

A sort of crazy trip we got routed on because we inadvertently had our Google Maps set to "no tolls" so it wouldn't let us go to the Thousand Islands Bridge. This is like small-town, small scale transportation - it was really fun and interesting, but make sure not to go this way if you're in a hurry!
