If you are looking for an active place to stay with world-class attractions, Ohio’s major cities can satisfy any vacation desire. Each offers its own distinct flavor of fun, from professional sports – Bengals (Cincinnati), Cavaliers (Cleveland) and Indians (Cleveland again) – to museums, outdoor activities and more. One of the most famous is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. If football is your thing, don’t miss the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. For the science-minded, visit the meat eaters at the Carnivore Conservation Center in the Wilds near Cambridge, dedicated to the breeding and scientific study of endangered mid-sized carnivores. Kids will also love Planet Snoopy in Sandusky or the Columbus Zoo’s Zoombezi Bay Waterpark and Jack’s Landing rides.

Small, country canning-specialty shop located in the heart of historic Lebanon Ohio. Local: preserves, honey, gift cards, vino slush, dip mixes, and many cute, hard-to-find culinary gifts. Call for dates of canning classes, which are taught in our FDA-approved commercial cannery, just 2 miles away!
If you want to be treated like royalty, this shop is for you! I love the selection in this store- something for everyone. The quality of the products are excellent. If you are a foodie, the owner of this shop knows her stuff... I mean the science of canning, food prep, etc. She even provides classes at a large kitchen behind her home. Very “Cooking Channel” worthy. What a gem!

I have attended several Savoir cooking classes (pasta, spring essential recipes, Chinese take out), a date night (modern steakhouse), as well as wine paired tasting dinners. All have been very well organized and orchestrated. Chefs Mike and Mike make it very enjoyable, educational and comfortable for all. This is a fun, interactive way to learn and get our of your comfort zone. Good value for the experiences; I highly recommend.

There are really several parts to the Loretta Paganini Cooking School. It has a professional culinary school where you can learn to become a chef. It has many classes for us laypeople just trying to cook better, and there is a lot in between. These include "hands on" cases that are closer to the training you would get to be a chef. There are also demonstration programs that are half school/half fine restaurant. We've participated in both the "hands on" and demonstration courses and greatly enjoyed both. Loretta Paganini, who teaches many of the classes herself, has a nice touch and is chock full of tips to make an exciting meal without getting too serious about it. Her staff, too, takes much the same approach. They have a wide variety of courses that are endlessly inventive, ranging from how to cook seafood, to fine Italian cooking, to book themes. We took one on Thanksgiving that helped us to kick our holiday table up a couple of notches. They are generous with references and pointers and will answer just about any question you might want to ask. They are also full of commonsense and realistic advice on how you can make a spectacular meal at home. The demonstration classes are limited to about 20 people. Come hungry. They will have a theme and you will learn a lot, but it's also basically like going to a fine restaurant and taking advantage of the 7-course tasting menu. Hint: bring a bottle of wine - most of the others in the class do and it can wonderfully complement the meal. They have glasses there, so just bring the bottle and enjoy it with the meal. [If you forget, Chesterland has two excellent wine stores just down the street on Mayfield, Colonial Beverage and Red, Wine and Brew]. You will see a lot of couples or friends getting together. We were here one night where a group of co-workers came to have an evening together. The classes are listed on line and it is easy to sign up for just about anything you might want. If you just want a night of fine dining, try the adjacent Sapore Restaurant, which is rightly described by just about everyone as a hidden gem.

We've been here three times already and are in the process of booking our fourth event at this location. Informative, hands on, engaging professionals (chefs) that guide you through the process of creating (and eating!) an unbelievable array of culinary options. I can't speak highly enough for Chef Andi, and her staff, in providing such an incredible evening(s) of food and fun!! An incredible experience for friends and families!!
